條件狀語(yǔ)從句

1.定義

條件狀語(yǔ)從句（adverbial clause of condition），屬于狀語(yǔ)從句中的一種，從句部分是用以說(shuō)明主句中謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞發(fā)生的條件的狀語(yǔ)從句。在英文中，“條件”是指某一件事情實(shí)現(xiàn)之后（狀語(yǔ)從句中的動(dòng)作），其它事情（主句中的動(dòng)作）才能發(fā)生，通常譯作“假如”、“如果”。注意：在含有條件狀語(yǔ)從句的復(fù)合句中，表示將來(lái)時(shí)態(tài)，主句是一般將來(lái)時(shí)態(tài)，祈使句或情態(tài)動(dòng)詞，從句要用現(xiàn)在時(shí)態(tài)。

2、分類

目的狀語(yǔ)從句的引導(dǎo)詞主要有：

①if，表示“假如”，可以放在句首，也可以放在句末，位置靈活。

if引導(dǎo)的條件狀語(yǔ)從句表示在某種條件下某事很可能發(fā)生。

例如：If you fail in the exam, you will let him down..

如果你考試不及格，你會(huì)讓他失望的。

We will stop playing if it rains. 

如果天下雨，我們就不玩了。

if從句還表示不可實(shí)現(xiàn)的條件或根本不可能存在的條件，也就是一種虛擬的條件或假設(shè)。

例如：The victim would have had a chance to survive if he had been taken to the hospital in time.（與過(guò)去事實(shí)相反）

如果遇難者被及時(shí)送往醫(yī)院的話，他本來(lái)會(huì)有機(jī)會(huì)活下來(lái)的。

If I were a boy, I would make myself handsome and attract all the girls in the world.（與現(xiàn)在事實(shí)相反）

如果我是一個(gè)男孩，我會(huì)讓自己很瀟灑而且能夠吸引世上所有的女孩。

If Tom should be (were to be) free, he would go for a picnic with me next Sunday.（與將來(lái)事實(shí)相反）

如果湯姆有空，他下星期天就會(huì)和我一起去野餐。

②unless表示“除非，若不，除非在……的時(shí)候”，引導(dǎo)否定性的條件狀語(yǔ)（=if not），如果主句是一般將來(lái)時(shí)態(tài)，則unless引導(dǎo)的從句的時(shí)態(tài)通常用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)表將來(lái)，在unless引導(dǎo)的條件狀語(yǔ)從句中，主句也可以含有情態(tài)動(dòng)詞或祈使句。

例如：You will fail to arrive there in time unless you start earlier.

若你不早點(diǎn)動(dòng)身，你就不能及時(shí)趕到那兒。

They won’t come unless you say sorry.

= If you don’t say sorry, they won’t come.

除非你道歉，否則他們不會(huì)來(lái)。

1.當(dāng)所述條件會(huì)結(jié)束已經(jīng)存在的想法，狀態(tài)或趨向時(shí)，兩者都可以。

2.當(dāng)所述條件會(huì)導(dǎo)致一種新的想法或狀況時(shí)，通常用if not。

3.表示虛擬條件，既與實(shí)際事實(shí)相反的狀況時(shí)，只能用if not。

4.和否定表達(dá)連用時(shí)，只能用unless。

③on condition(that)../ supposing / provided (that)等。

on condition(that)...“在……條件下”，引導(dǎo)的條件從句是主句事件發(fā)生的前提條件或唯一條件。

例如：He spoke to reporters on condition that he was not identified.

在不披露身份的條件下，他接受了記者的采訪。

supposing“如果，假使”，表示一種假設(shè)條件。

例如：Supposing he is absent, what shall we do?

假使他不在，我們將怎么辦呢？

provided (that)“假如，除非，以……為條件”

例如：The other banks are going to be very eager to help, provided that they see that he has a specific plan.

如果看到他有具體的計(jì)劃，其他銀行會(huì)很愿意提供幫助。
